DescriptionIncorporated since 2014, Iron Spike Model Train Museum is constantly changing. We currently operate G-, O-, HO-, N-, and TY-gauge trains. The shareholders have valued their association with the museum and the interactions with individuals who have spent time there. Iron Spike is an IRS recognized 501(c)3 and would need to meet IRS Asset Transfer qualifications.
Spanning over 10,000 square feet, the museum boasts an array of museum-quality model train layouts in various scales. It's a family-friendly venue that includes a playroom for young children, while maintaining a museum's standard with exhibits that are for viewing only. The museum boasts a diverse range of model scales, distinguishing us from other museums that limit themselves to only one or two. Our exhibits are designed to entertain and educate our visitors. Furthermore, our Recycled Railroad Shop provides a vast array of engines, cars, structures, tracks, and accessories. We operate entirely with the help of volunteers and have deliberately maintained low admission fees to encourage regular family visits. In addition, the Iron Spike Resource Center and Library contain nearly 21,000 books and magazines dedicated to train history, with a collection that is consistently refreshed.
Iron Spike, recognized as a 501(c)(3) by the IRS, is seeking an asset transfer to a similarly structured entity. To facilitate this process, we recommend consulting with legal and financial professionals who specialize in nonprofit asset transfers. They can guide you through the necessary steps and ensure compliance with IRS regulations.
